An unusual construction site

At the beginning of 2022, the idea of launching this new activity took shape, marking the start of a long process.

In September 2024, with planning permission obtained, we officially began work, bringing our project to fruition.

We did a lot of the work ourselves.

Here are the key stages of this unusual project which lasted 6 months.

September 2024

Marking the ground for the future terrace.

October 2024

Start of earthworks.

Custom cutting of the 4 beams and 45 oak rafters, using a mobile saw.

November 2024

Installation of beams and rafters.

Installation of 90m2 of terrace boards, with 1250 screws.

December 2024

Dome assembly in 10 hours.

Installation of the wooden board, with insulation.

Assembly of the door and the airlock.

Installing the walls one by one.

The walls are pre-assembled by module in the workshop.

The structure is insulated with 10 cm of sheep's wool, using the sarking method (uninterrupted insulation).

Installation of the custom-designed canvas, sewn by hand in the workshop.

The interior of the dome is heated to a high temperature, in order to relax the canvas and allow it to sit properly on the structure.

January 2025

Creation of the half wall inside the dome.

Electrical installation in the dome and on the terrace.

February 2025

Exterior fittings

Creation of the fire pit area

Development of the bowling alley.

Installation of dry toilets and fitting out of sanitary facilities.

Creation of the path.

March 2025

Delivery and installation of the Nordic bath.
